Laser Genesis Procedure:
Multiple laser pulses are passed over the surface of the skin in a very rapid speed. There is no anaesthetic required and the deep dermis of the skin is warmed up causing the collagen to reform itself into a smoother layer.
This laser technique is used to tighten skin, and to smooth skin in patients with dark skin and acne scarring. In older patients with Rosacea, it can be used to decrease the redness and tighten the skin.
This laser IPL (Photofacial) treatment is used to treat broken capillaries on the skin’s surface and also helps in the treatment of hyperpigmentation. Multiple treatments are needed on a monthly basis. No anaesthetic is required and a gel is applied to the face first. The laser head is placed on the skin and a flash occurs, improving the areas of hyperpigmentation and facial redness. After the treatment, the face will be red, which will settle by the next morning. Brown spots are often darker as they are closer to the surface before they exfoliate off.
This is best for patients who have Rosacea who have lots of flushing and diffuse redness, and often topical prescription drugs can be used in addition. For patients with hyperpigmentation, Limelight can be used to hasten the improvement of the brown patches.
